Blocked Culvert threatens flooding of local properties

Once the affected area in Uxbridge was surveyed, Tim Cheshire (Environment Agency) called into head office to check for any flooding events which may threaten the safety of the operation.

Stage1

The river running into the blocked culvert was dammed and some initial floating debris was cleared. ADC are experienced in confined space work.

Stage 2

Gas monitors were fitted to the team, as River Silt can release dangourous gases. ADC, who have a strong policy for being environmentally conscious, then set about rescuing the fish. ADC also use "fish friendly" pumps.

Stage 3

The robot camera, the very latest technology built by Rico (Germany), was deployed to survey and feedback images of the culvert to the vans computers. ADC were able to check for structural defects, debris etc. During the survey amoungst other debris a boat was found jammed deep in the culvert.
